Job Description:

We are seeking a proficient Secure Email Gateway (SEG) Specialist to join our cybersecurity team. The SEG Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing our email security infrastructure, particularly focused on platforms such as Proofpoint and Abnormal Security. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in SEG technologies, a deep understanding of email security protocols, and the ability to identify and mitigate email-based threats proactively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Administer and maintain our Secure Email Gateway (SEG) infrastructure, including configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting of Proofpoint and Abnormal Security platforms.
  2. Monitor and analyze email traffic for security threats, phishing attempts, malware, and other malicious activities.
  3. Implement and manage email filtering policies, spam detection rules, and content inspection mechanisms to ensure effective protection against email-borne threats.
  4. Collaborate with the IT team to integrate SEG solutions with existing email systems and applications.
  5. Provide expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders on email security best practices and policies.
  6. Stay informed about emerging email security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
  7. Participate in incident response activities related to email security incidents, including investigation, analysis, and remediation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing Secure Email Gateway (SEG) solutions, preferably Proofpoint and Abnormal Security.
  • Strong understanding of email protocols (SMTP, MIME), email authentication mechanisms (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and email filtering techniques.
  • Experience with email security tools and technologies, including anti-phishing, anti-spam, and anti-malware solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate complex email security threats.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
