This position is Remote to work with a US Company; you will require to have Citizenship or a work permit from Costa Rica to apply for this role.
Role summary
You will manage and support full-cycle accounting operations for US-based entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with US GAAP. This role requires hands-on ownership of month-end close activities, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and effective communication with US stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Execute month-end and year-end close processes in compliance with US GAAP.
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow.
Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and intercompany transactions.
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and accounting adjustments.
Ensure compliance with US accounting standards, internal controls, and reporting requirements.
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
Collaborate with FP&A, Payroll, Tax, and Operations teams to ensure accurate financial data.
Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to accounting best practices.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.
Communicate clearly and effectively with US-based stakeholders and management.
Requirements – Must-haves
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in accounting roles with strong exposure to US GAAP.
Proven experience managing full-cycle accounting processes.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
Experience working with US-based companies or clients.
Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Nice-to-haves (optional)
CPA certification or CPA-in-progress.
Experience with multi-entity or multi-state accounting.
Exposure to US tax processes (support or coordination level).
Experience working with distributed or international teams.
Familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar.
