This position is Remote to work with a US Company; you will require to have Citizenship or a work permit from Costa Rica to apply for this role.
Role summary
You will drive the design, implementation, and evolution of a fully automated CI/CD ecosystem within Microsoft Azure, helping modernize software delivery and infrastructure practices across the organization.
This is a hands-on engineering role combining Azure DevOps, Terraform, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, containerization, systems administration, and software development. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, networking, and QA teams to integrate security, quality, performance, scalability, and reliability throughout the SDLC.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related technologies.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)practices.
- Advocate for and implement DevOps best practices across software development and infrastructure teams.
- Integrate security, quality, performance, scalability, and reliability controls throughout the SDLC.
- Support legacy software deployments while progressively transitioning applications to fully automated deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate with Software Engineers, Systems Administrators, Network Engineers, and QA teams to standardize technologies and environments.
- Build and maintain containerized application environments using Docker and Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
- Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Develop scripts, automation tools, and operational utilities using PowerShell and Bash.
- Manage Git repositories and source control workflows, including branching, merging, and repository management.
- Support and troubleshoot production systems, deployments, incidents, and outages.
- Participate in production releases and occasional on-call or after-hours support when required.
- Support MS SQL Server environments and service-layer testing using tools such as Postman and SoapUI.
- Contribute to software development and troubleshooting using C#, MVC, .NET Core, or similar object-oriented technologies.
- Establish and improve standardized SDLC processes, deployment methodologies, and engineering practices.
- Develop internal tools and utilities that automate repetitive activities across the software delivery lifecycle.
- Continuously identify opportunities to simplify systems, reduce operational complexity, and improve engineering efficiency.
Requirements – Must-haves
- 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar infrastructure-focused role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Hands-on experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Experience with Docker containerization.
- Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes and/or Docker Swarm.
- Strong scripting experience with PowerShell and Bash.
- Experience managing Git repositories, branching strategies, merging, and source control workflows.
- Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Windows Server environments.
- Working knowledge of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
- Software development experience with C#, MVC, .NET Core, or another object-oriented programming language.
- Familiarity with MS SQL Server.
- Experience testing APIs and service-layer components using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools.
- Understanding of standard IT security practices, including encryption, certificates, authentication, and key management.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities across application and infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and modern DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across software development, infrastructure, networking, and QA teams.

- Experience implementing UI and API test automation frameworks.
- Experience designing internal tooling to automate SDLC processes.
- Experience with microservices architectures.
- Exposure to cloud-native architecture and application modernization.
